April Newsletter Educating and Equipping with the Word of God

Church News We rolled into April with a beautiful reminder that God is always faithful to His promises with this gorgeous rainbow right over the church. We love to watch God do the work in building this church. We started with bi-weekly services and are now transitioning into weekly services. We've had weather challenges, with the first two Sundays being very rainy. The roads are dirt, so immediately turn to mud and a lot of it! Transportation whether by truck or foot becomes a challenge. Despite the road conditions and leaky roof, many persevered. These last two Sundays the temperatures soared above 100, very typical for this time of year. Despite these challenges, many were eager to be together to worship our Lord. Please be in prayer as we are seeking the Lord about a full-time Honduran pastor for the church that would also serve as a Chaplin for the school.

MEET Carlos and Rosa This month we want to introduce you to two ministry employees who have such a heart for ministry. Rosa is bilingual and has been teaching 3rd grade at CCA for the last two years. She is an amazing teacher and has grown into a spiritual leader among the teachers. Carlos lost his job soon after the Covid-19 lockdowns last March. We were able to bring him on our school maintenance staff approximately 6 months ago. Carlos is a quiet man with a tremendous work ethic and leads by example. He is faithful to take time to share the Gospel with those he is working with and earlier this month led another employee to the Lord. Your prayers and support help the ministry to provide much-needed employment to this area which in turn helps us to spread the Gospel. They have three children, Cesia is in 10th grade and is part of the work program at the Pizza shop. Ester is in 6th grade and Carlos in 4th. Your support also provides sponsorships for them to be in school. They have become an active part of the ranch church. We feel very blessed to be serving with them.

CCR Technical School The second week in April we welcomed our first 5 students to the technical school. This is an answer to prayer as we have had such a burden for the 14-17-year-olds in our area that due to their lack of an educational foundation would not be successful in a traditional school. This first group is taking a beginners welding class and will have the opportunity to obtain some advanced skills over the next year. Not only will these classes provide them with skills to help them be better equipped and more employable but it is a tremendous opportunity for them to be mentored while they learn and work on the ranch and attend weekly Bible study.

Our technical students attend courses free of charge in exchange for 12 hours of ranch work each week in addition to their coursework. This opportunity is reaching some of the most at-risk in our community. Four students are still in need of a sponsor. Guadalupe, Carlo, Pedro, and Jeffery. Please be in prayer that we can find sponsors for each of them. If you or someone you know is interested it is $500/year or $42.00/ month

Prayer Requests: Urgent: As the government continues to change what is required in order for a school to function we have some very large unforeseen expenses to meet the new requirements and to pay the attorney fees required to manage the paperwork. Please pray that God will place it on hearts to meet this need in the next couple of weeks. Pray for the strength and endurance of our teachers to finish the last 6 weeks strong. They have had some incredible challenges this year. Please pray for our family as next month we will be traveling to the US to celebrate our daughter Mollie and Jared's wedding. Pray for Debora and Pavel as they will marry in June and continue with Wellspring in community outreach. Pray for our new Tech students and for the success of this program in changing lives and more importantly eternities. Continue to pray for the harvest to multiply and for more laborers! Time is short, may we be found busy about our Father's business!
